Vue Du Vallon - Lakes
The French lake district has over 23,000 lakes and in the immediate area to Vue du Vallon Chambres d'hotes there are over 12,800 of these lakes. The two largest of these lakes are Lac de Vassivière (980 Hectares) and Lac Saint Pardoux (330 Hectares). These support a host of leisure activities, both on and beside the water. Watersports, beaches, children's play areas and inflatables, cafes and restaurants, cycling and walking tracks. All the lakes in the area are surrounded by beautiful countryside and are peaceful, chilled places to relax, exercise and enjoy the stunning views. Below are some of our favourites and all are close by.
Lac du pont à l'Age
Lac du pont à l'Age is 8 mins away from Vue du Vallon and is the closest large lake. It is a great spot for hiking and taking in the views.
La Jonchere
La Jonchere Saint Maurice is a 15 mins drive and has a great fishing lake.
Le Taurion
Le Turion at Saint Laurent les Églises is 24 mins drive away and offers great views and a restuarant. Good for dog walks, hiking and fishing.
Saint Sulpice Laurière (lac)
Saint Sulpice Laurière is 9 mins from Vue du Vallon and a favourite for fishing. It is also a great spot for hiking and dog walking.
Étang de la Brousse
Étang de la Brousse in Marsac is an18 mins drive away and a beautiful lake for picnics and barbecues. This spot is good for hiking, dog walks and fishing.
Châtelus-le-Marcheix
Châtelus-le-Marcheix is 30 mins away from Vue du Vallon and is on the pilgrimage path of the Way of St. James. This reservoir and beach offers water sports and magnificent views.
Étang de Sagnat
Étang de Sagnat is a very pretty lake, just 10 mins drive away. There is a beach and children's playground as well as a bar/restaurant, fishing and hiking.
